This is my new favorite local restaurant dessert. I will bring my boys back here JUST for the dessert!

Read on to find out my two favorite restaurant desserts:

First off, my kids and I have long loved The Committed Pig in Manasquan. It is hands-down one of our favorite restaurants for the juiciest, most delicious (and unusual) burgers in the area.

This place also has amazing and unique grilled cheese sandwiches and awesome tomato soup and sweet potato and waffle fries. Even their regular fries are awesome.

They even have French Toast to die for!

Atmosphere and decor: A+ (heck, even the woman's bathroom is super cool!)

But I had never tried the dessert that I heard they are famous for until last night...and now I must go back for more!

In fact, I was so mesmerized by this delicious dessert that I forgot to grab a photo of it until I was almost finished devouring it!

Meet the Red Velvet Fried Oreo dessert at The Committed Pig. It's so scrumptious that I had to force myself not to finish it all, and that was ONLY because once I tried it I simply had to save two to bring home to my boys.

My description may do it no justice, but I'll try: Picture a plate of five or six sizzling, deep fried, red-velvet-cake-covered oreos, so that when you bit into one it's as if you're eating melted dark chocolate lava cake bites...and then you dip them into a cup full of oreo-type filling and practically cry from the deliciousness of it!

My other favorite dessert is from a very fancy, highly rated, and must-go-to restaurant that I love. It's entrees are so decadent that they are unforgettable.

I am talking about The Poached Pear Bistro in Point Pleasant Beach. I had a steak there that made me want to just run into the kitchen and hug the chef. From appetizers to desserts, your mind will be blown.

But since we are discussing desserts...here is my other favorite local dessert: It is The Poached Pear Bistro's Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. It literally rendered me speechless while I ate it. Are moans of pleasure like this encouraged while dining in a fancy place, or did I totally embarrass myself?
