Our Point Pet of the Week's name is Keith, and he's an adorable Boston Terrier mix.

Keith was brought to the Monmouth County SPCA along with many other dogs from a hoarding case. Most of the dogs had never been socialized outside the home they were in so new situations are very scary to them.

The good news is that Keith does like other dogs and finds comfort in having them nearby, so he would do best being adopted into a home that has another dog in it.

Keith is lucky enough to be in a foster home right now with a loving family and another canine sibling. His foster mom says that Keith follows her around and loves to play fetch, even doing a special dance around his favorite blue ball until it is thrown for him.

This gorgeous dog takes a little time to warm up to humans, but once he is comfortable, he will climb right into your lap to be close and feel safe. But he also loves to run around and do laps around a fenced-in yard, even though he is not yet ready for leash-walking.

Keith makes sure he looks for and finds his canine foster sister whenever she goes into another room. This sweetheart is coming out of his shell more and more every day and blooming into a handsome boy who is enjoying himself and learning how to be a dog!

If you would like to meet sweet Keith, please call ahead so that his foster family can bring him over to the Eatontown location of the MCSPCA (260 Wall Street). Call 732-542-4552 to speak with an adoption counselor or email adoptions@monmouthcountyspca.org.

The MCSPCA has new adoptions hours. They are open Noon - 7 pm on Wednesdays through Fridays, and Noon - 5 pm on Saturdays through Mondays (Closed Tuesdays.)

Also, this Saturday, Feb. 18th, the MCSPCA will be helping to celebrate the PetSmart National Adoption Weekend and will be at the Manalapan store (7 Rt. 9)  with some very lovable and adoptable pets from Noon - 2 pm. So come out to meet some wonderful animals, bring the family, and take your new forever pet home the same day!
