Since 1974, the Jersey Shore has come together on Main Street in Belmar for the St. Patrick's Day Parade. This year the tradition continues Sunday, March 6. 

Marching bands, floats, fire trucks and lots of people make the parade such an "event." Be sure to show off your green to The Point Crew when they pass by. Here are some frequently asked questions about the parade.

When and where does the parade start?

The parade steps off at 12:30 p.m. at 22nd and Main. The parade can last as long as three hours plus.

How many people go to the parade?

If the weather cooperates, there can be as many as 200,000 spectators at the parade!

Where is the best place to watch the parade?

The prime place to check out the parade is between 10th and 11th. But, it's a favorite spot, so get there early!

How's parking?

Crazy. Timing is everything. The earlier the better, as they start shutting down Main Street at around 10 a.m. NJ Transit is offering extra service on Sunday between Long Branch and Bay Head.
