The Garden State isn't a huge state, but north and south Jersey are two completely different worlds. And yes, I know many say there is a "central" Jersey, but for the sake of this argument let's take a look at big north vs. south contrasts.

    Italian Ice vs. Water Ice

Technically, is there any other kind of ice besides water ice? In general, water ice and Italian ice are different terms for the same thing. Italian ice = north - water ice + south. I think we can all agree on Rita's, right?

    Taylor Ham vs. Pork Roll

Even though I have lived in Toms River all of my life, my parents are from up north. So in my house it was always "taylor ham." Once again, different name - same deliciousness.

    Benny vs. Shoobie

Both the benny and shoobie are tourists, but which term you use says a lot about where you live and where you're from. "Benny" is north jersey and "Shoobie" is south. This unofficial map seems to indicate that the L.B.I. border is the dividing line.

    Quick Chek vs. Wawa

Both are convenient stores that offer food, but I've got to say that whether you or north, south, east or west, Wawa is far superior to Quick Chek. Some in North Jersey don't get the opportunity to experience Wawa's glory, and that's a shame. By numbers, Quick Chek belongs to the north and Wawa to the south. However, more and more Wawas are creeping up north.
