If you suffer from allergies, the last thing you want to do is make them worse, but that may be exactly what you're doing and not even know it.

Here are some things you may not realize could make your allergies worse according to health.com...

Fruits and vegetables...If you have something called "oral allergy syndrome" (and up to one third of pollen allergy sufferers do) then certain fruits and vegetables like apples and tomatoes may be adding to your allergy woes.

Stress...A recent study suggests that if your stress levels are high your risk of more allergy "flare-ups" rise.

Alcohol...Especially red wine can really mess with your allergies, mostly because of the sulfites.

Showering in the morning...Allergens get stuck on your body all day long, so if you only shower in the morning, you're taking them with you to bed, and are likely waking up with a stuffy nose.

Contact lenses. When the pollen gets stuck on your contacts it only makes the allergy suffering increase.

No matter where you go on the Jersey shore there are people sneezing, blowing their nose and making that awful "uhhhhh" sound that only allergy sufferers truly understand. Maybe these tips will help a little. Feel better!
