5 Things People at the Jersey Shore are Really Afraid of [LIST]
With Halloween around the corner, forget about clowns, the dark or spiders. Here are some things that we are really afraid of at the Jersey Shore.
Winter
After the summer we had, it's easy to welcome the colder weather. I'm guilty of it every year. Right about this time we have a 90-degree day and I say "I'm over it." Then, fall flies by and before we know it, we're battling snowstorms and wind chills of 10 below. By January I'm once again caught saying "I'm over it," with months still to go.
Pumping Our Own Gas
It must suck to have to go outside in the rain, snow, and cold to fill up your tank. Listen, we don't have a lot of luxuries living at the Shore, this is one that I am happy to keep.
More Constuction on the GSP
It's one of the sure things when living at the Shore. You know, death, taxes and neverending "improvements" to the Garden State Parkway. Heck, it's safe to say that we are afraid of any road construction. All it takes is one lane shift or detour and our commutes can become an hour longer.
Out-of-Town Drivers
Is there anything more frightening than being behind a driver that has never navigated a traffic circle? Well, I guess there is. But, it's hard to not be weary of folks who don't know the rules of the Jersey roads.
Taxes
I'm a fairly new homeowner and I discovered something recently. Property taxes go up. Like, every year. And not by a little. We're talking increases that make you scream and then cry and then scream some more.
