Since researchers say happiness is good for you, a company in Japan has come up with a new invention....a refrigerator that won't let you in until you flash your smile!

It's called "The Happiness Counter", and it was invented by the University of Tokyo after research showed that if people smile more they will be happier.

The idea is that if you are forced to smile in order to get your food out of the fridge, you just might become happier.

In fact, they may market this refrigerator for the workplace, thinking it could increase employee morale.

They say that even if you don't feel like smiling, a smile could increase your chances of feeling happier.

I don't know about you, but if someone tries to FORCE me to smile, I can't imagine it increasing my happiness level! JUST GIVE ME MY FOOD! I'll smile later. After I'm past the bad mood you just put me in.

What's next? A vending machine that makes you tell a joke before it works?
