We fight traffic, congested towns, high prices and high taxes, stress at work, and an impossible schedule at home, and yet, we still manage to be nice people here at the Jersey Shore.

Don't get me wrong, we have our moments. Hey, nobody's perfect. And we have attitude, but that's not a bad thing. That attitude has gotten us through some tough times. Really tough times, like Sandy.

We wait through some brutally long winters, only to open our doors wide to the rest of the world when the weather gets good. Who's nicer than we are? We share our favorite restaurants, roads and parking spaces, and we do it gracefully...most of the time.

We are the punchline in jokes for comedians, TV shows and movies, and we laugh along, even though the Jersey jokes are old an uncreative. We know the truth. We have a beautiful state, gorgeous destinations and we're proud of every bit of it.

Maybe that's why we can get through all we get through, keep a smile on our face, let people ahead of us on a busy road, and occasionally hold the door open for the person behind us. That's why I pay tribute to us. A big salute to the good people of New Jersey! We deserve it!
