Acme of Shrewsbury is shutting down by April 28 according a spokeswoman for Acme Markets. The Upper Deerfield, NJ location is also closing. Both stores had leases that were about to expire and Acme decided to not renew and to focus on new stores that are in the process of opening.

Luckily, Acme is working with the current employees of the Shrewsbury store with getting transfers to other locations.

An alternative for shoppers in the area would be the Trader Joe's (across the street from Acme.)
