Update: Jim Carrey provided an amazing response to Adele's Mask Halloween costume.

"Hi Adele. It's Jim from the other side. Weird coincidence, I dressed up as one of your roadies for Halloween," Carrey tweeted, alongside a photo of himself wearing false teeth. "I absolutely love you!"

Aside from her unmatched vocal talent, Adele is perhaps best known for her ability as a songwriter to tap into your innermost devastating thoughts and amplify every horrible emotion you've ever felt, to hell and back again. She's got a real penchant for illustrating misery and sadness -- in a good way! -- but her robust sense of humor is equally as compelling, a point she made clear with her 2016 Halloween costume.

The "Hello" singer -- who unveiled her getup, which was equal parts funny and terrifying, on Instagram today (November 1) -- dressed up as Jim Carrey’s titular character from the 1994 movie The Mask.

The two images she posted are, sadly, in black-and-white. While this creative direction does fall in line with her overarching Instagram aesthetic, it also effectively erases any hint of green paint Adele's makeup artist may have used to replicate the character's iconic look.

Still, the prosthetics and signature suit alone were enough to render the 25 singer's costume easily identifiable -- color photo not required.

It's not the first time Adele's dressed up in an elaborate costume, either. For her 27th birthday, the “When We Were Young” singer transformed into George Michael, complete with facial hair and sunglasses.

“Thank you for the birthday wishes,” she wrote on Twitter at the time. “I had a wonderful time! I was my hero x #gottahavefaith."
