In case you think there aren't any good people left in the world, I present you with this.

After 12-year-old Joshua McQuoid had been swept out to sea by intense waves in New Zealand, a German tourist tried to help him out of the water with no luck.

As others rushed in to help, responding police officers told bystanders to form a human chain.

They were able to link arms and save the boy, who was treated and released from the hospital.

(Let's overlook the fact that the chain didn't really hold up that well. It's still impressive.)

Awesome to see that Joshua is okay, and that so many people stepped up to help out!
