Madagascar 3 and Prometheus topped new Tom Cruise and Adam Sandler movies to take the top two spots at the box office this weekend. Madagascar 3 pulled in $35.5 million, bringing it's total to $120.5 million and Prometheus earned $20.2 million.

I predicted Rock of Ages would get a big win. It didn't happen. And it wasn't good news for That's My Boy either. The Sandler movie brought in only $13 million, good for 5th place. Cruise's Rock of Ages grabbed $15 million and placed third.

I obviously thought Rock of Ages deserved a lot better, since I predicted it would take over the top spot this weekend. This flick is non stop music and is an awesome feel-good movie, and Cruise and Alec Baldwin are great in their respective roles.

I should probably get out of the prediction business since I'm 0 for 2, but I'm going to try again. Among the movies opening this weekend, Disney Pixar's Brave and the suspense/horror movie Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter.  I'll go with Madagascar 3 holding on for one more week with $23 million. Based on my recent prediction record, this is probably bad news for Madagascar!
