For the third time this year a tractor trailer that did not fit under the NJ Transit Railroad Bridge on Laurel Avenue in Holmdel, gets stuck underneath.

Holmdel Police say they found a 40-foot trailer Sunday around 3:54 pm that sustained significant damage after striking the bridge, getting lodged underneath and spreading debris along the road.

There were no injuries or other vehicles involved but the driver was given multiple summonses for disregarding the bridge height restrictions.

The trailer had to be removed by a heavy duty tow company.

Laurel Ave was closed down in both directions for approximately one hour while the scene was secured and cleaned up.

The NJ Transit Police assisted with the investigation and the Holmdel Fire Company assisted with traffic during the incident.
