It seemed like there were thousands of families out for Columbus Day at Eastmont and Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck. To me, it was actually more chaotic than relaxed, but I managed to find some beauty, and we got tons of yummy apples. Here are my photos.

I started out feeling cranky. The traffic jam on Rt. 34, both north and southbound yesterday afternoon, was a nightmare.

I should have realized that with yesterday being a holiday, and with the sun shining the warmth of a summer day down on everyone, that what seemed like each and every parent with a child would decide to go get apples and pumpkins fresh off the farm.

Time is running out and before you know it the apples and pumpkins will be all gone....so I was really surprised that there were still any left to choose from considering the throngs of people coming in -- lots of New York license plates, too.

But, despite the heat, the very, very long walks to get to the rows of each of the types of apples we wanted, and the big crowds, lines, and massive amounts of cars and traffic...I was able to find the beauty. And here are a few of my photos from Eastmont Orchards.

Do I love fall? Yes, on a cooler day with less of a crowd. Were you stuck in that mass of humanity yesterday? Did you find your apples and the perfect pumpkin for your family?
