I've been trying to avoid this, but I think it's time to vent. Can anybody in this state park in one parking space?

Parking. It's a pretty easy concept. You put your car in a reasonably sized space that gives you the opportunity to get in and out of your vehicle. Don't take too much space, and don't squeeze in.

Apparently nobody could do this on the honor system, so they started painting a line for each side of your car and apparently people couldn't manage that, so they started painting double lines. Really? Did we actually need  a designated space between the two cars? Umm, obviously yes.

And this weekend, for about the five thousandth time, I finally found a spot in an incredibly packed supermarket lot and...you know what's coming next...the cars on BOTH sides were on the wrong side of the lines.

And for all the "I only did that because the guy next to me was parked that way" people out there, I can't give you a free pass. If you can't fit in the spot, don't park there.

For the record, I did squeeze into the spot and had to do the old body contortion move, you know the one that can only be described as the sideways limbo, to actually get out of my car.

So, in conclusion, I beg all of us to respect the lines! I'm a pretty simple guy. All I want to do is park, get my red cabbage and go home. That's not too much to ask, is it?
