Are Lou & Liz Really Friends?

The other day, Liz's son Christopher asked her if she and I were friends. Liz stumbled and bumbled as if he were asking about the birds and the bees. Lou & Liz friends? She didn't know how to answer.

Liz asked me and Nancy on the air, and we were as stumped as she was. I mean, we know each other for over 20 years, and we've been doing the show together for almost 10 years. We obviously get along on some level.

Some people say we're like a married couple. Umm, no. That's not it. A married couple would, for at least some time period, want to be....umm....married.

Some people say we're more like brother and sister. That might be a little closer. She is kind of like my older sister, minus the good advice, of course, and the family get togethers, and the gifts at the holidays, and the things in common. Maybe we're not like brother and sister either.

You know what? I really don't know how to answer that question.  Even the eloquent Nancy couldn't put it into words. I will say this...it's always interesting when we're in the same room. Sorry Christopher, wish I had a better answer, or any answer at all!
