Parents and teachers, you are invited to take advantage of a one-night, free, special event to learn what you can do to avoid your kids becoming a part of the heroin statistics and deaths in our area.

New Jersey, and particularly Monmouth County, are in the middle of a heroin epidemic. In only one year, heroin deaths among 18-25 year olds in our state rose 24%, according to the Partnership for a Drug Free NJ.. The ones that OD's didn't all start doing drugs at 18, and they didn't all start with heroin.

The three most dangerous words you can say are "not my kid." Please take advantage of this upcoming event to learn what you can do to help the young people in your life avoid becoming a part of these sad statistics.

The event is called "Gateway Drugs and the Road to Addiction" and will feature Dr. Raj Juneja, M.D. It takes place on Tuesday, April 28th, in the Wall High School Auditorium. It starts at 7 pm. The presentation is FREE and no registration is required. All parents in Monmouth and Ocean Counties are encouraged to attend.

Presented by The Wall Community Alliance, The Shore Community Alliance, and the Churches of the Manasquan Area Ministerium.

Dr. Rajiv Juneja, M.D., M.S., is board-certified in both adult psychiatry and addiction medicine. Dr. Raj has developed a following of people who love his insights on how to live a healthy and happy life. He is the author of "You Are More Than That" by Hay House (2013).
