This weekend kicks off the official Fourth of July celebration and law enforcement is cracking down to make sure that all can have a great yet safe time here at the Jersey Shore.

On Friday, June 29th (aka TONIGHT) from 10:00 pm to 2:00 AM, the Monmouth County Driving While Intoxicated Task Force (DWI) will set up a checkpoint along Mainstreet in Asbury Park and randomly stop cars to determine drivers' sobriety.

Be aware that law enforcement must have probably cause to stop a vehicle but because they are releasing the date, time, and location of the checkpoint to the public, it gives everyone fair notice and therefore allows cops to stop cars to ensure the public's safety.
