Back to normal for NJ – a dry, cool forecast for the weekend
The 70s and 80s are gone, with more seasonable temperatures and little to no rainfall expected for the foreseeable future across the Garden State.
I have to be honest. Now that our cold front is through, returning cool and dry air to New Jersey, our forecast will become really boring. We'll be looking forward to consistent temperatures, sun and clouds, and little to no rainfall.
Friday morning isn't too bad - showers are gone, skies are clearing, and temperatures are fairly comfortable in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Sunshine will dominate the sky on Friday, with seasonable (near-normal) high temps near 60 degrees. The only potential issue will be an occasional gusty wind, to about 25 mph, through Friday afternoon.
Clear skies, calm winds, and dry air will set the stage for a cold Friday night. Forecast lows fall to between 30 and 40 degrees - so a freeze is possible in the coldest spots, with another frost likely for most of the Garden State on Saturday morning.
Overall, the first weekend of November will feature pleasant, "jacket weather". High temperatures will reach the mid to upper 50s, right around or just below seasonal normals. Skies will be mostly sunny on Saturday. Following a weak cold frontal passage Saturday night, we'll add a few clouds and a breeze to the forecast for Sunday. That front is expected to be dry, and it should have minimal effect on our temperatures for the second half of the weekend.
We stay cool on Monday, with lows in the 30s and highs in the mid 50s, alongside mostly sunny skies.
It looks like we'll get a bit of a warmup for Election Day Tuesday, through midweek. Models currently suggest widespread highs in the 60s.
Of course, if you're hoping for some drought-busting rain any time soon? Keep hoping - any significant rainfall looks to be at least 10 days away.
