Back Yard Tea and Cucumber Lemonade – Cocktails of the Week

At tomorrow's Sun of a Beach Festival in Asbury Park, you'll find great music, food, and lots of fun, and of course, cocktails!

If you can't make it to Asbury, we'll bring the festival fun to you with our cocktails of the week!

Sailor Jerry rum will be on hand at the festival serving up their Back Yard Tea:

Ingredients:

• 2 oz. Sailor Jerry spiced rum
• 1 oz. iced tea
• 2 oz. fresh lemonade
• lemon wedge, to garnish

Add all ingredients to a tall glass filled with ice, stir. Garnish with lemon wedge.

Use sweetened or unsweetened iced tea depending on how sweet you want your cocktail, and feel free to add more or less tea, lemonade, or vodka to suit your tastes.

Hendrick's Gin will also be representing in Asbury, shaking up some Cucumber Lemonade:

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz. Hendrick’s Gin
• 1.5 oz. fresh lemonade
• club soda
• 4-5 fresh mint leaves, plus mint sprig to garnish
• cucumber spear, to garnish
• lemon wedge, to garnish

Muddle the mint leaves in the bottom of a mixing glass. Add the Hendrick’s Gin and lemonade and shake well with ice. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with club soda. Garnish with cucumber spear, mint sprig, and lemon wedge.

Hendrick's Gin goes so well with cucumber because it has a cucumber influence in the liquor itself. Even if you think you don't like gin, give this a try!

Don't forget, the Sun of a Beach Festival is rain or shine tomorrow from noon to 6 in front of the Paramount Theater and Wonder Bar in Asbury Park! Bring your beach chairs, and channel your inner Parrot-head...it's gonna be a blast!
