Behind the Scenes with The Bachelor

I got to spend an hour backstage in the 'Green Room' with Chris Soules, so here are a couple of the 'behind the scenes' stories...

For the hundreds of fans at iPlay American Saturday night that were thirsting for more info on Chris Soules after my interview with our favorite Bachelor, here are some of the other things I learned about him backstage.

-- First of all, he is very tall -- over 6'1" -- and even more good looking in person than on TV!

-- He has a genuine smile and laid back, content and happy attitude. He is friendly, a great conversationalist, pays attention to everyone in a room, and shows genuine interest in others' lives. He doesn't just revolve a conversation around himself. His drink of choice that evening? Maker's Mark.

-- He just wrapped up taping a new TV reality competition show that will be shown on the Food Network this September. It's a celebrity cooking show. And on that show he made some new celebrity friends that he really bonded with and said he will be friends with forever, including Jaleel White, Dean Cain, Hank Basket and Kendra Wilson, and JWow. They had such a good time taping in NYC that they all got together one night in a private bar and sang karaoke and had a blast. How do I know this? He showed me the video that one of the celebs took on their phone of him singing and sent to his cell.

-- He was in the office of his house on the farm in Iowa recently when he heard a knock on his front door. When he looked through the glass in the door, he saw two little boys standing outside. He thought that was odd, so he opened the door. It turns out that two rabid female fans flew to Iowa, rented a car, tracked down his farm, and used their KIDS to get Chris to answer his door so they could meet him! And THEN, once he signed autographs and was kind enough to spend a few minutes with them, they tracked down his GRANDMOTHER at her home and spent an hour talking to her! He says there have been enough instances like this that he now has to find a way to protect his family's (and his own) privacy!

-- He has hired a close cousin of his to take his place at the farm and work with his dad while he is still booked for upcoming events and TV shows. Look for him in Atlantic City in the not-too-distant future, where he will be doing a dance show with his Dancing With The Stars partner Whitney Carson.

-- He ranks in the top five of nicest celebs I have ever spent time with!
