Being a parent may cause some physical problems for you, like fatigue, stress, lack of sleep, backaches, headaches -- and oh, so much more. But it looks like there's one physical benefit to having kids.

Scientists have found that parents have a reduced risk of catching a cold.

Now, some might think that a parent is a sitting duck for catching every single cold that their child brings in the house... but that's not the case.

First of all, the more germs you are exposed to, the more you build up your immune system.

But some researchers believe there's also a psychological difference between parents and nonparents when it comes to sickness.

The research shows that many parents either don't believe they are at any risk of getting sick, or they are so busy that they don't believe they can afford to be sick (that's what I think, too!) so, in the end, they stay well.
