Belmar Named One of the Most Bike Friendly Towns in NJ
What New Jersey towns and cities are Top 10 to ride a bike in? A report by Rutgers Voorhees Transportation Institute chose a Monmouth County town for their top 10.
Belmar made the cut for having 9% of commuter trips done by bicycle, and having a police force fully trained to patrol on bicycle.
9%! Almost 1 in 10 people in Belmar commute on a bike. That's awesome.
Cyndi Steiner, NJ Bike and Walk Coalition executive director commented on the finding of the report.
Speaking to NJ.com, Steiner said:
Each of these towns, by making investments in safer roads, is sending a message to everyone, drivers, bike riders, and pedestrians, that they can feel safe and welcome riding a bike there.
