As we broadcast from the Asbury Park boardwalk we are literally in the shadows of the gorgeous Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel.

This incredibly beautiful structure is one of the great architectural highlights of this great city, and one look at it is all you need to know there is a great deal of history associated with this building.

So here are three things you may or may not know about the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel, formerly the Berkeley Carteret...

The building is around 100 years old and it's silhouette has become synonymous with Asbury Park.  

The structure was designed by New York's Whitney Warren. He also worked on the Biltmore Hotel and Grand Central Terminal in New York City.

In February of 2007, the the 248 room hotel was purchased for $16 million.
