Have you ever wanted to visit a place just out of curiosity? Have you ever just wanted to go somewhere you normally wouldn’t go, just to do something different? I am constantly stepping outside of my element and doing weird and crazy things, just because I don’t like to live not trying out new things. We can just call it one of "Jazzy's Jersey Adventures". With all that being said, I would love to share my latest adventure I had for my recent birthday get together. This year instead of just going to the bar, or having people over my house, I decided I wanted to get a bunch of friends together and go out to eat before hitting the bar. I didn’t want to just go to a commercialized restaurant with overpriced food, this year I wanted to hit up a spot that had great food, wasn’t expensive, and was like having a home cooked meal. Not to mention, I like to support small businesses…especially if someone I know owns it. This year I decided to take my adventures to Trenton, to visit NJ WEEDMAN’S JOINT. I had been there once before and the food was so good, I just had to go back. I also promised owner Ed Forchion aka NJ Weedman that I would be back after my first visit. Unfortunately, after my first visit, he was incarcerated soon there after and spent over 440 days in jail...but we won’t get into that now though. Anyway, upon his release, he struggled financially but was able to get the restaurant up and running again. I am so glad he did! My birthday dinner 420 style was amazing!!

Now before you think something crazy, let me start off by saying this: I do not smoke cannabis/weed/marijuana or whatever else you want to call it. I also do not think it should be illegal. We can debate on that another time though. This blog is solely about a small restaurant that has amazing food with a whimsical marijuana themed décor. The food does NOT contain marijuana, but once you taste it, you will be eating as if you did smoke. Myself and 7 of my close friends took the trip and no one was disappointed. The restaurant is located right across from the Trenton Municipal Building on East State Street in Trenton, NJ. The outside wall is in the process of having a mural painted. Inside of the restaurant is small and cozy. There are multiple frames of newspaper articles that starred NJ Weedman. There are whimsical and witty sayings about weed everywhere, and they even had a Christmas Tree made out of fake marijuana leaves. Everything on the menu is named and priced with named and numbers related to weed, NJ icons, other things and people that are weed related. Super creative and hysterical.

Next door there is a Sanctuary for people that partake in 420 activities. There are lounge areas, TV’s with gaming systems, an area set up for events, and a huge outdoor garden with tables, staging area and a humungous JENGA game. This sanctuary is the only of its kind in NJ.  So just to be clear, people are not smoking weed in the restaurant. That means, anyone can go there.

Prior to going there, I made Ed aware that we were coming for my birthday celebration dinner. Instead of us ordering separately, he had “Chef” make us a special buffet style dinner. OH MY, I am drooling just thinking about it! He had chicken (perfectly seasoned and it fell off the bone), rice, mac and cheese (THE BEST I EVER HAD), potato skins, veggies, and one of my guests did order from the menu, an order of fried okra (fresh and crispy). We all left feeling, bluntly speaking, like we had to be rolled out of there…lol…see what I did there? LOL in a nutshell, I am thinking that the next time you want a home cooked meal, but do not want to take the time to do it, head to NJ Weedman’s Joint! You will not be disappointed!!!
