This is not a drill. If you can donate blood, now is the time, as we face an emergency shortage at the Jersey Shore.

Central Jersey Blood Center is telling us that donations are low nationwide, but we need to step up on the local level. Alyssa Drown, Marketing Manager of Central Jersey Blood Center said:

Right now we are facing a frightening shortage of something that only people can supply – blood.  Our local and national blood supplies are dangerously low. No substitution exists for human blood; it cannot be manufactured!

Think blood donations don't stay local? Think again.

50-year-old Evelyn Suarez of Tinton Falls is battling AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia.) She is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant tomorrow, July 12. Evelyn says that if it weren't for blood donations, she wouldn't have been able to make it this far in her fight.

Bottom line, it doesn't matter your type, when you donate blood, you give the gift of life.

Blood donations can be made at one of three Central Jersey Blood Center Donor Centers in Howell, Toms River, and Shrewsbury. For location hours, or to find a mobile drive near you, go to www.cjbcblood.org.
