A fisherman makes a gruesome discovery in the very busy Ambrose Channel early Monday morning. According to the Asbury Park Press, the fisherman spotted a man's body floating in the channel, secured it with a rope and towed it to the U.S. Coast Guard Sandy Hook Station at around 6:30 a.m.

State Police said there were no wrecks found in the area where the man's body was found, the body didn't match any of its ongoing searches and there were no missing persons reports made for the recovered body. However, State Police said they'll be conducting a bi-state search in New Jersey and New York in hopes of identifying the victim.

According to the article, "the Ambrose Channel is described as a main shipping channel in and out of the Port of New York and New Jersey, several miles off Sandy Hook."
