An unsubstantiated threat left on an answering machine at the David C. Abbott Early Learning Center in Marlboro this morning sent students and staff to the township's Middle School while local and state police combed the building.

The message was reported to township police at 8:10 AM, before most students had arrived, according to Marlboro PD Captain Fred Reck.

Students who had already arrived were bused to the Middle School while parents en route were notified and diverted, the Captain said.

K-9 teams searched the rooms and halls, found no trace of dangerous materials and cleared the building by 10:19 AM, Reck said.

As of this writing it wasn't disclosed whether morning students would transfer back, or whether afternoon classes would take place there or at the Middle School.

We will have more details after reaching Superintendent Dr. Eric Hibbs.
