According to police:

  • The suspect is described as a male standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds.
  • Wearing a black baseball cap, a dark hooded coat, light gray shirt, blue jeans and dark sneakers.

He walked into Ocean First Bank before 3:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, according to police Sgt. Keith Reinhard. The note indicated the suspect had a handgun, but no weapons were shown, Reinhard added.

Police responded to the scene after an alarm was tripped inside the bank, but the suspect fled the scene before police arrived in what is described as a green vehicle, possibly a Mazda.
