Many people who spent a good chunk of time volunteering after Hurricane Sandy have gone back to work and school, leaving many local groups in need of help.

The Brick Township Police Athletic League has been serving hot meals to the community and giving out supplies to those in need.

Andrea tells us via Facebook that they are in need of volunteers, especially between the hours of 8-11 a.m. and 7-9 p.m.

They also need supplies like canned and fresh vegetables, butter, pastries, Ziploc bags, aluminum trays, Sternos, powdered creamers, hot cocoa mix, cutlery sets (forks/knives/napkins), cleaning supplies, aluminum foil, and plastic wrap, among other things.

They are planning to stay open until November 17 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. each day.

If you need a hot meal or supplies, stop by at 60 Drum Point Rd. in Brick. If you have questions or want to help, call 732-477-0144.

If you are unemployed or have time to spare, this is a great way to help the community. Together we can and will restore the shore.
