Jacob Basilotto is a 15-year-old high school freshman at Brick Township high School who was born with just half a heart. Since December, he has been on the waiting list for a heart transplant and is considered the most urgent. Here are two upcoming events you can attend to help him and his family.

He was born with a congenital heart defect known as HLHS (Hypo-plastic Left Heart Syndrome)  but Jacob has more heart than most. He has undergone multiple invasive medical interventions including four open heart surgeries, frequent testing, and lots of medications and therapies since he was born.

A couple of years ago his family was told that he only has one working kidney, which has made it even more difficult. At the age of five, Jacob developed PLE (Protein-Losing Enteropathy) which further complicated his already-complex condition and came with a myriad of new symptoms.

All of this makes it a challenge for Jacob to live a normal teenage life. So his family and friends are asking for your support to help them raise money in support of the upcoming expenses associated with Jacob's heart transplant. These expenses include additional travel costs to CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia), transplant surgery, extended hospital stays and visits, medication costs, and medical/hospital bills.

On behalf of the Basilotto family, the fundraising team would like to thank you for your consideration and generosity. They say the Basilottos are a fantastic family and that Jacob is, and always has been, a warrior. He and his family appreciate your support as he continues his journey to health. Please keep Jacob and his family in your prayers.

This Friday, June 3rd, you are invited to a comedy club dinner/show at Uncle Vinny's in Point Pleasant, 5:45 pm - 9:15 pm. $50 per person includes the show and choice of dinner (BYOB). There will also be a t-shirt sale and 50/50. All proceeds will help the medical costs.

There will also be a golf outing on June 30th at the Woodlake Country Club, sponsored by the Coastal Jersey Parrothead Club and Friends Helping Friends of NJ. CLICK HERE for details.
