Two Brick Township women face a battery of drug charges following a roadside stop by police.

Brittany A. Cassanovas, 25 and Amanda Louk, 20, were apprehended Tuesday after a search of their car yielded 549 bags of heroin, 12 grams of crack cocaine, prescription meds, a scale and $1,875 cash, police said.

The stop, search and seizure at about 2:15 PM was initiated by the township's Drug Enforcement Unit. Investigators obtained a warrant to search the car, police said.

Louk faces two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension, then transferred to Toms River police to answer a warrant, police said.

Cassanovas is charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute and two related counts. She was released on a summons to await court proceedings.
