Borough police issued an advisory just after 3:30 PM, indicating that the state highway's southbound side was cordoned off from New Jersey Avenue to Route 88.

Traffic in that direction is rerouted to Bay Avenue until repairs are completed.

The dimensions of the main, number of homes and business affected, or whether a boil advisory was issued, is not known. An inquiry to borough Public Works Director Robert Forsyth was not immediately returned.
