Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that means family, food and in many cases travel. And that could mean a visit to a local airport.

Of course, the one most of us use here at the Jersey Shore is Newark Liberty International Airport. We all know it's extremely busy and we also know Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel season, so the smooth traveling math just doesn't seem to add up.

And it doesn't, because according to Graphiq in an article at msn.com, Newark Liberty International Airport is the third worst airport in the nation when it comes to Thanksgiving travel delays. Congratulations to us.

The study says the percentage of flight delays over the first half of this decade at Newark is a whopping 21% with an average delay of 12.3 minutes, 12.3 minutes of which none of us can afford.

Only two airports are worse, with Chicago Midway International in second, and the single worst airport in the U.S.A for Thanksgiving delays is Akron-Canton Regional in Ohio.
