Maybe the big Memorial Day weekend is a sign of a good summer for Jersey Shore businesses.

This Memorial Day weekend weather certainly cooperated, the roads were jammed and the boardwalks were hopping, which are all good signs for local businesses starving for a banner summer season.

No one needs to remind business owners of the issues since Sandy hit, but there have been signs of optimism. Tourism rose nearly 4% in 2014, according to an article at app.com.

With the tourism industry on the incline, and some cooperation from the weather, this could be a great season for our local businesses in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and we sure hope so. Memorial Day weekend seemed to be a great start!
