Our Point Pet of the Week was found at Sandy Hook. So they've named him Captain Sparkey Hook.

This boy lost his home during Hurricane Sandy and was seen wandering up and down Sandy Hook every since. A nice group of people took turns feeding him, and over the course of several months, Sparkey became very friendly and affectionate, so one of the volunteers thought he might be happier as an indoor family pet.

Captain Sparkey Hook has adjusted wonderfully to the Monmouth County SPCA but he really would love a forever home. He is estimated to be about 10 years young. He is front declawed and a cuddlebug lap cat!

Captain Sparkey Hook is an FIV+ cat, which means that he has a weaker immune system than the average cat. As long as he is kept indoors, fed a quality diet, and kept up-to-date with proper vet care, he can live a normal life in both quality and duration, and, in most cases, can live safely with other cats as long as the others are spayed or neutered and the cats don't fight.

The Monmouth County SPCA will also be at the West Long Branch Home Depot with adoptable animals between 11 am and 2 pm this Saturday, June 7th, 2014 at 310 State Hwy 36, Ste 100, West Long Branch.
