Do you ever gather your kids around for a good game of cards? It can be so much fun!

I have two middle school boys. So I understand the pull of technology, gaming, texting and You Tube.

But I also fight for family time, outdoor activities, book-reading, and some of the other 'classic' activities that kids USED TO do before our lives were overtaken by electronics.

As I have mentioned before, we do a monthly Game Day at my house with the boys' aunt and uncle. We spend some time outside playing frisbee, soccer, tennis, or walking the boards, and then we come inside for some food and board games like Scrabble, Sorry!, etc.

But this past weekend we decided to teach Benj one of our favorite card games...and he loved it! It's a game that requires skill, strategy, and thought. Great brain game! And it's something we can do with others, or just the two of us.

Do you have any favorite card games past or present? A couple of my favorites are called 'Spite and Malice' and 'Liverpool'. I am so happy to be teaching the games my Grandma loved to my son. Warms my heart.

And another way to bond in the years where the boys are way too likely to hole up in their rooms with headphones on.

Try it sometime!
