Summer has officially started, so you're probably looking for some poolside relaxation—and maybe having the family and friends over for a BBQ.

I've been hearing a lot about on-ground pools, which are hybrids between in-ground and above-ground pools, so I turned to my friends at Central Jersey Pools, Patios & More to see what all the buzz is about.

1) On-ground pools have the look of an in-ground pool but are cheaper and easier. By installing the pool partially in the ground, there's less excavation and less mess to get it installed. "You can create the size to fit your yard and budget (and landscape accordingly,)" as Central Jersey Pools' website says. They carry Doughboy, Sharkline & The Fox Ulitmate lines.

2) Sinking it into the ground makes it sturdier than the typical above-ground model. And sturdier often means it lasts longer and needs fewer repairs.

3) On-ground pools are easier maintenance than their in-ground counterparts. That little bit of height means things are less likely to blow (or crawl) into the pool. You get to spend more time enjoying your pool and less time cleaning it.

4) This option is tax friendly. Of course, you should check with your local tax professionals, but on-ground pools often aren't considered permanent structures, which means they aren't added onto your property taxes.

If you'd like to learn more about on-ground pools, I can tell you that I really appreciate Central Jersey Pools' long history in the community—about six decades of history. When I stopped by recently, I couldn't resist getting a photo with the only guy there having more fun than me:

They have a great showroom to visit (4235 Route 9 North in Freehold), or you can reach out to them via an online contact form here. And here's a little bit more about their company history and philosophy:
