The PBS Series Driving Jersey will open its new season with an episode featuring Asbury Park. And a special episode on Seaside is coming up, too!

This month, Driving Jersey returns with all new episodes, continuing to showcase the iconic and undiscovered parts of our great state.

Airing on February 19th at 8:30 pm is an episode called Driving Jersey: Asbury Park, Two Sides, which shows the guys taking in a burlesque performance fundraiser at the legendary Asbury Lanes.

The venue is well known in our area for its vintage bowling experience, art shows, outrageous productions and live music programs. As the Lanes enters thier 52nd year, they are under threat to be taken over via eminent domain.

However, the purpose of this bawdy burlesque presentation at the Lanes wasn't to raise awareness of the potential plight of the alley, but to raise much needed funds for the Boys & Girls Club of Asbury Park. Driving Jersey went there as well and got to meet the staff and kids to get a clearer picture of the importance and need for that organization in the Asbury area.

While visiting the Lanes, Driving Jersey Produceer Steve Rogers met Angie Pontani, a famed burlesque performer who was headlining the show. This leads to the second episode of Driving Jersey: Angie Pontani, which airs on Feburary 26th at 8:30 pm and takes viewers back to Angie's childhood in NJ.

Driving Jersey, the Emmy Nominated series, airs on NJTV and is also available on the web at www.DrivingJersey.com. (That's Comcast channel 23 and Fios channel 46.)

Stay tuned for a very special future episode in May when Driving Jersey presents the premiere of After Sandy: the Seaside Heights episode. We hope to have Producer Steve Rogers back on our show soon to tell you all about that!
