Tonight's the night that Joe Leone, along with Asbury Park restaurant owner Marilyn Schlossbach, begin a possible WEEK of sleeping in boxes in Asbury Park. And you can join them for a candlelight vigil this evening. Here's why they're doing it.

Joe Leone recently took a ride around Asbury Park, Bradley Beach, Neptune, Keyport and Keansburg and interacted with 14, 15, and 19-year old teens who live under boardwalks and bridges, who are lost, hungry, and scared. He was heartbroken since he has kids of his own those ages. He says the thought of his children living on the streets with nowhere to go is truly frightening, and he wants to help.

Joe and Marilyn have big hearts and do so much for our community. Now they want to draw your attention to the young, homeless people in our area by raising money for the new Covenant House coming to Asbury Park.

They will sacrifice their own comfort to experience what it's like to be without a home. No showering, no working, no running home for anything. So join them tonight for a kick-off reception at 6 pm, Longosta Lounge, 1000 Ocean Avenue in Asbury Park. Donation is $15 at the door.

Or, if you don't want to leave Joe and Marilyn on the Boardwalk, where they will be until they reach their donation goal, DONATE HERE!
