Chipotle Coming to Red Bank

The rumors have been swirling for a few months now, but it seems to be true: Chipotle is coming to Red Bank!

It will reportedly take over the space last occupied by Manhattan Bagel in the City Centre Plaza on Water St. at Maple Ave. That strip of stores is already pretty packed with chains like Rite Aid, Dunkin Donuts, and Yo Mon frozen yogurt.

Now, let's be honest, when I'm craving real deal Mexican food in Red Bank, I always go to North of the Border on Monmouth St.

That said, there are times when Chipotle just hits the spot...like when you want a burrito the size of your face, or a perfectly layered bowl of deliciousness, or a stack of chips with good, chunky guacamole. All in all, I'm pretty stoked about this.

The good news is that plaza has its own parking lot, but the bad news is...it isn't all that big, and gets full as is at peak times. Luckily there's a municipal lot and a parking garage within walking distance!

Chipotle isn't the only chain heading to my favorite town...RedBankGreen also reports Jimmy John's Sandwiches is expected to open on W. Front St., just west of Broad St., where Wayne's Market used to be.
