Chocolate Covered Banana – Cocktail of the Week
Sunday is National Chocolate Milk Day...so...let's channel our inner child and put a very adult spin on things to celebrate!
I love when drinks are easy to make, and I generally believe the fewer ingredients the better.
Considering chocolate milk to be a single ingredient, you'll need two other things to make this week's Chocolate Covered Banana cocktail. (The title should offer a clue as to where this is going...)
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. vanilla or chocolate vodka
- 1 oz. creme de banana
- 2-3 oz. chocolate milk
- chocolate syrup and/or whipped cream, to garnish (optional)
You can simply pour the ingredients over ice in a tall glass and stir, or give a little shake and strain into a cocktail glass. (If you go with the second option, make it a little pretty by rimming the cocktail glass with chocolate syrup and maybe adding a dollop of whipped cream!)
Easy. Peasy.
There are so many ways to switch this up:
Use a different flavored vodka, like coconut or strawberry for an added layer of flavor.
For a nutty twist, add a little Frangelico or Amaretto (Just reduce the amount of vodka and/or chocolate milk.)
Consider making it a frozen drink by throwing it all in a blender with plenty of ice -- or ice cream, adding a fresh banana for extra flavor!
**Make it kid-friendly: if your kids want to join in, you can easily turn this into a mocktail by picking up some banana extract in the spice aisle! Make the frozen version with the fresh banana and bam! You got them to eat a piece of fruit!**
However you make it, enjoy!
