Do you and your family attend tree lightings this time of year? Seems like each shore town has its own tradition, and each family does as well.

One of my favorites is the tree lighting/ Candy Cane Hunt in Manasquan, which my kids grew up on. We made some great memories there. If you haven't been to that one, and you have little kids (up to elementary school age), you should get there this Friday night! It starts at 6pm in Squan Plaza but get in line at least an hour early. Your little kids will get a candy cane with a number, and then scavenger hunt down Main Street for the store with their number in it. There they will be given a wrapped gift. It is nothing short of wonderful!

So whether it's the hot chocolate, singing carols, seeing Santa, or strolling the streets of some of the quaint shore towns that hold tree lightings, hope it gets you in the holiday spirit!
