Construction On New Seaside Heights Boardwalk Begins Today

In another big step toward recovery at the Jersey Shore in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, construction on the new Seaside Heights boardwalk begins today.

In my mind, the devastation of that horrible storm seems like yesterday, so the fact that work on the new boardwalk has begun is amazing. I know there are so many people hurting from the destruction of Sandy, and I hope you get the long overdue help you need very soon. But knowing that some of the landmark places that have been the backdrop for our childhood and best memories are on the mend is such a good thing.

Our own afternoon show host Matt Ryan will be at the ceremony marking the beginning of work on the Seaside Heights boardwalk this morning and will be reporting in to the morning show. The public is invited and Mayor Akers will be there as well as many other community officials, business owners and state officials.

The evnt will take place at The Beachcomber and doors open at 8am.
