Have you ever wanted to experience a vacation within driving distance from your home, but you still feel like you’re away?

I have been enjoying the benefits of a staycation for the past couple of summers. Planning several day trips or maybe even an overnight stay several times throughout the summer is enough to feel as if you’ve taken a “real vacation.” In some cases, it’s actually better. No major packing, worrying about leaving the house unattended for a long period of time and let’s not even get into airport issues.

Here’s a staycation idea for you: check out the 6th Annual Craft Beer & Crab Festival in Cape May Saturday, August 5th from 10am-6pm. This free all day festival features local craft beers, steamed crabs, crab-cakes, shrimp, pulled pork and lots of other picnic foods. There will also be jugglers, acrobats, crafts, food vendors, a farmer’s market and other activities.

This is one of New Jersey’s Top Summer Festivals, click here for event details. Enjoy the pristine beaches and all this National Historic Landmark has to offer.
