It was J.B. Smoove who first telegraphed that Curb Your Enthusiasm might be coming back for real, so it’s only fitting the first informal production promo would give Leon the spotlight. Larry’s best foil is back (if not Larry himself), as Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 9 officially starts production.

HBO shared a quick tease of the new season beginning production, as the previously-unconfirmed J.B. Smoove attempts to rouse Larry from his trailer for Season 9, to no avail. Instead, Smoove opts to shoot the entirety of Season 9 with just Leon, and we can’t entirely say we object to the idea.

In addition to Smoove, we know that the new season will also return to their roles Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines and Susie Essman, We also know Jeff Schaffer will take a leading executive producer role in the new run between fellow alum David Mandel (Veep) and Alec Berg (Silicon Valley).

The full ten episodes of Season 9 are eyed for an undetermined date in 2017, but what other returning favorites should we hope for more Curb?
