I don't think many people want to get up and out the door by 4:45 am unless, perhaps, you're going fishing. But if you're lucky this time of year, you get to see THIS. And, in the evening, THIS! Check out the pics and tell us which time of day is more beautiful.

The longest day of the year passed us by earlier this week, but dawn is still coming between 4:30 and 5 am for a little while longer.

If you want to see a sight like this for yourself, by August you can rise a little later once the days get shorter and see it a little later in the morning than 4:45.

It is one of my absolute favorite sights. It's something you only get on a clear day when the first thing you see after dark is just a strip of bright orange light...way before the sun actually rises. That is heavenly to me.

It's not always something you can plan to see. If it's the least bit hazy or if there are any passing clouds, you won't always get a picture like this. But this particular morning just took my breath away.

Of course the one thing that rivals this is one of the stupendous sunsets over the inlet as well. Oh, the beauty that surrounds us!
