So where did they come from and where were they going?

Did you ever?!!!

Well I never...

...saw deer on the beach.

Especially in Asbury Park...where there isn't much in the way of a forest or even a clump of trees near the ocean.

So while we were doing our morning show there this past Friday (as we do every Friday morning all summer long), you can imagine my surprise when two very large deer came frolicking past us on the beach!

They were galloping around and heading straight for the waves!

It was such a sight to see.

They were headed toward Convention Hall, but it was so foggy out that we couldn't see them after that.

Our friend Don, who works for the town and cleans up the beach with that giant tractor/sifter each morning, said "Welcome to my Wild Animal Kingdom" when I asked him if that's the first time he saw the deer. Don says they like to lick the salt off of the jetty rocks.

One listener called in to say she thinks the deer are from Allenhurst...but Lou Russo joked that they didn't look much like Allenhurst deer, lol.

Another listener said he saw the deer continue onto the beach in Deal.

Hope they know where they were going!

The funny thing is, I always tell everyone I know that I avoid the Parkway when I drive to work at dawn because that's when the deer are out. Instead, I tell people, I take Ocean Avenue to work because there's no chance of hitting a deer.

Clearly I have been schooled!

So now I have seen dolphins, whales, foxes, and deer at our very own Jersey Shore beaches and ocean.

Have you ever seen deer on the beach?
