This weekend is a New Jersey Super Bowl, and there will definitely be a Monmouth County connection in the Denver Broncos huddle.

Running back for the Broncos, Knowshon Moreno grew up in Belford and was a star football player at Middletown South. While there, he led his team to three Central Jersey Group III championships, according to wikipedia.com.

He also had some amazing statistics, including rushing for 1,629 yards and scoring 28 touchdowns during 11 games as a senior. Those numbers led him to be considered one of the top 10 running back prospects in the nation.

His high school career numbers were amazing. He finished with 6,268 career rushing yards, which is second all time in New Jersey, and he also scored 128 touchdowns, and 728 points, making him New Jersey's all-time leading scorer.

It's so great that we have a Super Bowl in New Jersey and some Monmouth County representation as well!
