The new trends may surprise you. Guess what's dropped from number two...and what's now inching back up to the top?

We bought less soda for the tenth straight year in 2014.

But what may be surprising is that diet soda sales are shrinking more than sugary sodas.

An annual report by a beverage tracker has found that, overall, soda sales slipped last year.

But the poor performance of diet sodas has led to a shake-up in the top 10 U.S. soda rankings. With more people realizing that diet soda can actually sabotage your diet, and so many viral stories about the dangerous chemicals in diet sodas, people are turning back to 'real' sugar.

Back in 2010, Diet Coke had knocked Pepsi off of its perch as the number two soda behind Coke. But not anymore.

Overall, Coke remains the most popular soda in the U.S.

What's your favorite soda? And do you still drink it as often as you used to?
